Just don't do what my MIL does: unwrap it and put it in a bowl of water! The first time I saw her doing that she spotted me goggling in disbelief, and kindly explained 'you should try defrosting it that way; it's so much quicker!'
It used to amaze me how she mishandles good foodstuffs, till I worked out that she really has no sense of taste; to her, if a food is expensive and/or high-prestige, and served with all the appropriate accompaniments, it's by definition 'good', no matter how soggy and tasteless it has been made by bad preparation.
