It's 92F and humid, so of course I'm having spaghetti tonight. With steamed broccoli on the side, and parmesan biscuits I made Sunday.

Tonight I made Texas Straw Hat for dinner, with grape tomatoes and sour cream cucumbers on the side. Dessert was white chocolate pudding and cherries. My mom used to make this, so it's a sentimental favorite. It takes no time at all to put together, and then it simmers for twenty minutes.

Home-grown yellow courgettes [zuchini] fried in olive oil, with a handful of [home-grown] basil leaves stirred through at the last moment, together with [home-grown] salad leaf/herb salad & potato salad with [home-grown] dill and [last year's home-grown/home-made] dill pickles running through it.

I'm loving having our teeny-tiny little vegetable "garden" [several tubs, and an old cold-water cistern].

How did dinner turn out?

Tonight I'm making slow cooker pulled chicken on kaiser rolls with coleslaw, pickles, and potato chips. And lunch this week is Poor Man's Soup. Both of these make loads and only take a few minutes to put together.

I love Poor Man's Soup! We do it a little different, macaroni instead of potatoes, so good. We call it Depression Soup!

My first ever try at Chinese food! I made a chicken stirfry. I had it on rice tonight, tomorrow I'm going to try it with stir-fry noodles.

Homemade pizza! Milk Street published a recipe in their last issue that I've made the past few weeks.
