Wizard101

www.wizard101.com

Anybody play?  It is an online game, where you play a wizard who has to help save the wizarding school/world from an evil wizard called Malistaire.  There are various worlds to play through with tasks to complete and evil minions/bosses to defeat in each to move you up levels/gain access to different worlds, and the storyline is really quite interesting.  I started playing it to see if it was suitable for Child to play, but I play it a lot more than she does!

One of my wizards is currently stuck on the Counterweight East in Marleybone, and it's really irritating!

I confess, all three of us play, and we even occasionally splurge on Crowns.

We're super intermittent, though -- both my partner and I have a day job and a side gig, and even the Kid has a day job, so sometimes months go by, and then we realize it's time for the dreaded ten minutes of patching.  ;)

I have multiple characters, mostly so I can play with colors and costumes -- OMG the costumes are my favorite part.   And the pets.  And the mounts.  And...  ;)

For the Marleybone main quests, it's tons easier if you have a buddy to go in with you, because the clockwork monsters are hard to kill.  But I like Marleybone because it's so compact!  MooShu feels like miles and miles of just running around to get to where you're going, and it annoys me.

I have all 6 slots full, mainly so that if one quest is annoying me, I can switch to another character on a different level and do something else!

Yeah, the stretches of space in Mooshu are irritating, I agree!

For the character stuck in the counterweight quest, what's mainly annoying at the moment is that she is a Balance wizard, and thus doesn't have a terribly good defence! i could really do with a buddy, but it seems to be quite quiet on there atm, and none on my friends list are on when I'm on!  i'm planning on playing in an hour or so, see if I can't get this quest out of the way once and for all!

If I wasn't up to my neck in laundry and about to head out to do errands, I'd totally offer to jump in.  I have a mid-level Lifey that would be perfect.

Best of luck with it!  Maybe we'll try to meet up sometime in Wizard City.  :)

Managed it eventually! And the Big Ben quest (although, yet again, I couldn't find the Big Ben cat), so I've moved onto Mooshu with that character.  i did notice that some of my other characters are on lower levels so next I think I'm going to try to level them up.

Any time you think you're going to be about on there, just message me with your name/location/realm ad I'll come play with you!  I am in the UK though, so times will be different, but I quite enjoy staying up late (when I don't have to work!) and am happy to waste hours on there!

Anyone else who wants to come play, just shout me and we'll make friends!  There's also a sister game called Pirate101, which I find less enjoyable but still quite fun.

I would love that.  :)

Congrats on finishing the quest!  :)  You can go back and get the cat, btw; I can't remember which level exactly he's on, but he's off in a corner behind a crate or something, I think.

Is this computer only or do they also have mobile apps? It sounds interesting, but I’m hardly even on a pc and a regular website would probably cripple my data package 😬

kitty, I found the Big Ben Cat, thanks to your recommendation of 'behind some crates'! It's on the level after the silver chests level.

lmc, it's a computer game, a MMORPG.  There are little app games you can do, outside the game, but I've never tried looking for them on mobile!
