Dear Ciaran:

Why must you lay on me in such a weird spot? Seriously. I woke up with you lounging happily across my thigh. And stop laying at the bottom of the bed. It's dangerous.

Sincerely,

Provider of the cromchies

LOL!

"What do you like to put on your tacos?"

"Nachos."

 ;D

Ha! I didn't see the question before posting what we were having for dinner that night. Sounds legit, though!

And that was how Ron Stoppable created the Naco. True story.

What do you like to put on your tacos?

depends on the taco! I made upside down tacos that time so it was lots of lettuce, refried beans, taco meat, cheese, tomatoes (sometimes i put avocado too), and then i add crushed up doritos, and sour cream, and hot sauce!

I have discovered I don't want to eat sauerkraut any more. I used to love it, particularly the jarred kind with the caraway seeds, but for some weird taste-bud reason it's just too sour for me to enjoy any more.

Oh no! I usually get the bagged kind, and i rinse it thoroughly, place it in a crock pot with sliced onions, and an apple cut in half and cored. Add garlic and onion powders, salt and pepper, and cook on low for eight hours, adding in the kielbasa only in the last couple of hours or so. Its sour but not overly so.

Thank you.  I have printed that out.  I hope that's okay with you.  It sounds delicious and I can look for the Golden Syrup at a couple of places that might carry it.  I see that it can also be ordered from Amazon.   :)

ressurecting the thread because... y'all can get golden syrup cheaply here: https://www.britishfoodshop.com/products/tate-and-lyle-golden-syrup-454g

Not at all. We are going through the same thing in our family. My cousin passed away in August. Though we are all getting together because we ddint last year, I want to be on hand specifically to comfort my aunt and my young cousin. But its also okay if you want to be alone.

Today, the  notice went up in the lobby of our building that we will have our traditional Halloween observance on October 30th.

Because our building is a hollow square with a landscaped internal garden and a walkway with benches around the perimeter it’s a perfect place for a children’s Halloween parade.  Adults often dress up and bring down baskets of treats for the children.  After the public party children and parents retreat to their apartments for smaller gatherings.

We’ll be back from our vacation in time to participate and I have a question for people here.  At the end of August I found a Warner Brothers approve Hogwarts Sorting Hat.  It doesn’t sing but it would be a very nice Halloween prop.  All the parents bring their cameras to get pictures of the fun.

I will be wearing a long purple cloak and a witch’s hat.  Would it be wrong of me to play Professor McGonnigal and place the Sorting Hat over their child’s head for a picture taken by the child’s parents. I wouldn’t necessarily be in the picture but my robes might.

I just think the kids and their parents might find it fun.

oooh please do! you can have it be an option. sort of an "And if you would like, have your child sorted!"

Weddings / Re: Plus One
« on: September 12, 2021, 10:57:08 pm »
Funnily enough i am in the same boat. My cousins wedding is in about six months. We were at our aunts house talking about the wedding after they had filled out their save the dates and he said "We (meaning him and his lovely fiancee) gave you a plus one, we thought you could bring SunshineSister*, so you'd have someone to hang out with."

Bless him, but he knows me. I do okay in situations like weddings, but it can be stressful. I told SunshineSister to mark it on her calendar.

*SunshineSister isnt actually my sister at all but a very close friend, and we call each other sisters.
