The Work Day / Re: The Attitude is Strong with This One

If ever anyone needed a copy of Dale Carnegie “How to win friends and influence people.”!

Modulate your tone accordingly. I would be laughing myself silly.

However, I do think you should institute a policy that any material emailed out should have the name of faculty member who made the request and should include a source.

Do you feel like it's something she should have known not to do?
Also, do you think the kids really care if their brother got it for them or someone else?  It's still only meaningful because of his being in the NG.

We have a bit of roast left over. I put it on bread (telera roll) with provolone and sliced red onions and broiled open faced. Came out great and didn’t end up overcooked.

I made this recently for the second time and it’s wonderful. Last time I used lacinto kale but this time regular and still lovely.

Also, mixing feta, lemon zest and olive oil as described here is delicious!

Really weird. When things like this happen I just tell myself it’s my imagination.

I’m surprised he didn’t say he has rights!

Was there always this much dysfunction there?

These stories are wild.

How about the word dilemma?
I swear I was taught to spell it dilemna! Others do also but that’s apparently not a spelling of it.

DH is away for work. We have a little uncooked farro, a little uncooked quinoa, a little uncooked rice blend, loads of fresh vegetables, good cheese (meaning that I like it!), baked chicken breast, lots of nuts.

So while he’s away I’m going to use all of that and make various things. Not sure yet about tonight. Probably a farro, tomato and feta salad and some left over orecchiette.

On a different note than above, funny things happen in my house, which we just bought last year. Doors that were closed are open. Lights on that were off. Some are easy to explain - tv coming on randomly must be a neighbor with a similar remote. Garage door closed when my husband stepped out for a moment. Deadbolt thrown on a door that we left purposely unlocked. My husband and I each thought the other was doing these things. Mostly this has all stopped.

But yesterday right after my husband left for a week, a key popped out of the buffet and went plink on the ground. Probably just came loose from vibrations in the room, doors opening and closing and it’s in a high traffic area. But after so many other things I am of course suspicious.

Not long after Katrina, I took a trip to New Orleans. While there, I “lost” my drivers license. We tore apart my wallet, suitcase and hotel room looking for it, multiple times. I was worried about how I would get through airport security. I did have my recently expired passport though, so made it through with that.

A year later, long after I had replaced it, I found my old license in my wallet.

I think it is meant as a joke.  But on top of the mother's day ban she issued, it's hard to be sure.

What you should wear depends greatly on venue and time of day.  I read somewhere that the Mother of the Bride's attire can have the effect of setting the tone for a wedding.  If the MOB is wearing formal attire, everyone should be.  The formality of the invitation should be an indication to the guests of how formal they should dress.

Here's a style that can be very dressy but still comfortable and modern. If you don't normally wear dresses, you might feel more comfortable in this style (there are tons of colors, styles, etc with similar flowing pants, long and short jackets, variety of tops)

Have they chosen a venue?  Any idea about number of guests?

Re: "My Day" Unless she's planning to let you plan the whole wedding, then run the show and be the hostess, this is likely the most complex, important socially gathering she will ever plan and execute.  It will be her job to ensure her guests are happy and have a good time.  It is wonderful, but "My Day" isn't a good description of it.

Rather than a Rehearsal dinner we had cocktails and appetizers at a casual outdoor place for everyone who traveled from out of town. It was a great way for people to see one another. Not super expensive and required very little planning.

For gifts, I gave my bridesmaids bags with some of my favorite things inside, candles, lotions, etc.  Also bathrobes from this place: https://www.plumprettysugar.com

Nevermind! I see you answered above.

Similar pizzas (usually rectangular) are made in parts of the Upper Midwest.
I have seen them around but just never knew the name. “Grandma’s”.

Chinese delivery tonight.  We worked in the yard after the work day ended and I am not cooking.
