Sounds perfectly normal, reasonable and courteous to me.  I've probably done something similar at some point.

Has anyone else ever made rotting corpse faces?  You carve a face into an apple and let it sit at room temperature for a few days...

The title of this thread makes me giggle every time I visit this forum.

Count me as another who would never, ever, ever, EVER want to eat food scraped off other people's personal plates, even if I was at the meal where the food was served the first time.   :-\

Pets / Re: Cat losing her sight
« on: December 25, 2024, 11:26:28 am »
My 18-year-old kitty lost his sight near the end of his battle with kidney failure.  He bonked into things, often walked in circles (which can be caused by vestibular issues as well as disorientation from not being able to see).  He was deeply distressed--he became extremely lethargic, refused to eat or drink, and appeared to be leaving us before rallying somewhat.  If your kitty's vision goes away completely, do be prepared for a depression like this.  She might need food and water brought to her.  We were able to get our guy to take liquid cat broth through a baby syringe while his appetite was at its lowest.  She may need a litterbox placed in an easy-to-reach spot (without moving the current one, of course).  Laying down some puppy pads can also help.

As someone who has worked in a big-box store forever, I'm not exaggerating when I suggest you reconsider putting any purchases you wouldn't place on a stranger's bathroom floor into a shopping cart.

Man, how just many new-baby parties is the average mom having these days?

Somewhat related: if you go on Facebook and beg your friends to vote for your kid in some contest, I'm going over to the link you provide, perusing all the entries, and voting for the entrant who deserves to win based on their work.  Your kid entered a competition of skill, not a parental popularity contest.

(Although sometimes Mary would say "We went to [Former Cafe] last time - let's go somewhere else this time. Happy for you to pick!")

"Happy for me to pick?  Former Cafe it is, then!"

I would also fault any onlookers who were egging the kid on.  How rude to the performer.

Beltaine was yesterday (in my time zone) in the northern hemisphere; Samhain in the southern hemisphere.

Person: "Oh, it must be such a pain dealing with me."
Me: "Well, that's why God made alcohol."

Somewhat related is when you confront someone on their terrible behavior toward you, and their "apology" consists of them verbally beating themselves to a pulp in an obvious bid for your pity.  "I'm such a worthless person.  I don't deserve to exist."  It's a form of abuse in itself, really, trying to make you feel like the bad one for having confronted them for hurting you.

Anyone happen to have a copy of the AITA OP?  It has been deleted from Reddit...

Well, aren't you going to give Billy a Christmas present?  How about a bottle of your favorite liquor?

I misread that as "drunk or treat."
