She's full of cr@p. BTW - I love Aldi.

we usually have ham, but this year, I'm serving a stuffed beef tenderloin. We shall see!

I'm trying my hand at a stuffed beef tenderloin this year. Sides are the usual, some sort of potatoes, veggies, salad, rolls, dessert and appetizers, including deviled eggs (traditional for us!).

Two thoughts one serious, one probably not so serious:

Serious thought - please document all conversations, texts, notices, etc. Commit to writing just in case it blows up.

Not so: what if it just ... disappears one day. If he Zack ever comes back for it, "Gee, I don't know what happened! Someone must've stolen it."

Holidays / Re: Halloween planning

I put out general Fall decor 2-3 weeks ago. I'll add Halloween decorations in a week or so. When Halloween's over, I'll take that down and put out a couple Thanksgiving-type decorations.

I put three large frozen chicken breasts in the slow cooker this morning covered in teriyaki sauce. We'll see how it turns out.

My son got married last October. We split the cost of the wedding and I used my airline points for them to fly to DW for their honeymoon. We did not give them any other gift (I did give a bridal shower gift, though).

LOL!

"What do you like to put on your tacos?"

"Nachos."

 ;D

Ha! I didn't see the question before posting what we were having for dinner that night. Sounds legit, though!

Maybe something along the lines of, "I appreciate that you're worried about me and want to make me feel better. However, the best way to do that is to just do as I ask - the simple things, like the tea the way I like it, my favorite blanket, and the remote."

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I know the movie you're talking about and even though she may have thought would be "helpful" to you - she shouldn't have done that to you. I'm glad you asked her about it midway through the movie. I hope she comes to realize how clunky and inappropriate that was. You're showing a lot of grace towards her during a exceeding rough time in your own life.

Last night was leftover ham and bean soup that had been frozen since last month. Tonight is tomato soup and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. It's very cold here this week!

Going to be a very cold weekend here. I'm pulling a turkey carcass out of the freezer and will cook it down to make turkey/rice/vegetable soup this evening. Tomorrow is my brother and sister-in-law's annual New Year's Day party. He lived in South Carolina for a few years, so he makes the traditional Southern good luck foods ("hoppin' John, collard greens, etc.).
