Got two real winners from my drive home yesterday. Both were of the "I'm too important to wait like everyone else" school of driving.
First idjit decided to drive approximately 100 yards down the bike lane in order to make a right turn onto the cross street.
Second guy in a big SUV drove up on the concrete island to get into the left turn lane on a major street. The laugh was on him. The way the signals are timed on that street, traffic going straight gets the green before the left turn signal turns green. He passed me on the island while I was waiting for the light to change. I ended up in the turn lane just behind him. Really gained him a lot.
BTW, both of these happened on the SAME major street about 10 minutes apart. Free floating stupidity in the air or something...
I had one of these on the way home from work yesterday. I was waiting to make a right turn behind someone who was turning left. Traffic was heavy, and this driver was a bit timid, so we sat there for a while. The car behind me (who hadn’t really been there that long, anyway) pulled out and went around me and the car in front to make a right turn. I saw the car in front start to move just as this car went around them, which made me very nervous. I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I see more drivers doing ridiculous things like this than I used to.
