A few years before he died, my father had a pretty good stroke, not his first.  He found it nearly impossible to read standard books, and asked us to email him using all caps, because that was easier for him to read.  I have NO idea why, but that was his truth.  It really bugged him that he could no longer read books for pleasure, as that was something he had done all his life, and to loose this just drove him nuts.

Prior to the internet, I typed a paper in all caps because I thought that would make it seem longer. Didn't seem to bother the professor as I got an A though I didn't think I deserved it and not because of the typing.
