Bad Manners and Brimstone

I don't think it's just an American thing. It's a sort of gut-level feeling. I can't explain it, but having somebody copycat you consistently feels like when you're sitting in the back seat of the family car with your sibling and they are waving their hand in front of your face and jeering, "I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!"
